Take note of these three new trail opening dates

April 9, 2021

April 16th marks the opening of many downvalley trail networks including most of the Crown, Prince Creek, Red Hill, New Castle and beyond. Of course, even though the wildlife closure is lifted, there still will be snow and mud in many areas. If you come across muddy conditions, assume it will just get worse. Please turn back to ride dirt and not mud.

We will continue to let you know about openings and closings. And on that note, here are a few important changes:

Better plug these dates into your Apple Watch now because you don’t want to be in the wrong place at the wrong time!

South Canyon

  • Upper Coal Camp trail: New opening is May 16. (formerly April 16)
  • Lower Coal Camp trail (Meadow Loop) : New opening is May 1st (formerly April 16)

Glassier Open Space

  • Glassier Trail from Rio Grande to Buckhorn Traverse: New opening is May 1 (Formerly May 16)

Snowmass/Aspen

  • Government and Anearobic Nightmare: New opening June 28. (Formerly June 21). Tom Blake and Sequel trails will open June 21 as usual.

Of course, if the conditions are wet/muddy, please wait until they dry out. Ride Dirt. Not Mud.
