If you have ridden South Canyon you know what a gem trail system there is hidden west of Glenwood Springs. You may also have seen the maps that show the potential of 9 miles of expansion trails. Now is the time to push for the construction of those new trails.
This is your opportunity to show that mountain bikers really enjoy the South Canyon trail riding experience and look forward to the remaining 9+ miles of approved trails yet to be funded.
Glenwood Springs posted a questionnaire to learn more about how people use South Canyon and it is important for mountain bikers to comment to help ensure the approved trails continue to be a priority for funding and construction.
In addition to the survey, mountain bikers can learn more and make comments at the South Canyon Public Open House on Thursday, October 28 at the Glenwood Springs Library from 5-7 PM.
As an organization whose purpose is to advocate for more and better bike trails, RFMBA continues to support the approved trails, but we need the general public to add their voice as well.
Here is what you need to do in the survey:
- Let the City of Glenwood Springs know how much you love riding South Canyon.
- Reinforce how much you would appreciate the addition of the new trails as soon as possible.
- Speak your mind about other uses in South Canyon.
