Roaring Fork Mountain Bike Association (RFMBA)
Dedicated to creating and sustaining the best possible mountain bike trail system in the Roaring Fork Valley.
Join RFMBA & City of Aspen’s Recreation Department for our first annual Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day on Saturday June 11th! We’ll be gathering at Buttermilk Ski Area’s parking lot before starting the ride. Registration is at 10am. Small groups with adult lead and tail riders will head out starting at 11am. Event ends at about 1pm.
The ride will be an out-and-back style with a flat mile of new machine built, bike-optimized singletrack to start the ride – the Buttermilk Connector was built by the City in the Fall of 2015. For kids who are ready to do some climbing, we’ll be continuing up the Airline Trail. While most will turn around and enjoy the decent once we meet the Cozyline Trail, older kids can continue further onto the Sky Mountain Park trail system.
We’ll need plenty of Adult Ride Guides / Parents to join us for this event. All participants should plan on bringing their own bike and helmet, but we may have a limited number bikes and helmets available for those who pre-register .
Email info@rfmba.org to Pre-Register, to volunteer as an Adult Ride Guide, or to help sponsor this event with swag, treats, food & drink, or bike equipment.
If you’ve not yet ridden this new trail, here’s the map:
