Roaring Fork Mountain Bike Association (RFMBA)
Dedicated to creating and sustaining the best possible mountain bike trail system in the Roaring Fork Valley.
Join the crew from Aloha Mountain Cyclery in Carbondale on the 2nd Sundays of this August! RFMBA is coordinating with AMC and the BLM to conduct Group Work days with our partner Roaring Fork Outdoor Volunteers.
We’ll be working to maintain and improve the Buckhorn Traverse since the recently completed Lower Buckhorn, as well as upcoming trail projects on & adjacent to the Crown’s BLM lands (Buckhorn Traverse Extension, Glassier OS Trail) will cause more trail users to head up and enjoy this particular trail. Email info@rfmba.org to register early for this project!
Meet at 9:30am at the Rock Bottom Ranch parking lot. Please note that we have arranged for special access to this parking lot, for this event only. RBR’s approvals don’t allow for general trailhead parking at this location. From Highway 82, take Willits Lane to Hooks Spur Road, and find the RBR parking lot near the end of the road on your right. We’ll be hiking to the project area, with tools in hand, from this point. Catered lunch will also be at this location at the end of our efforts!
Wear clothes and shoes that work well for hiking, and bring water and lunch/snack. We’ll be hiking to and from the project area, and finish the day by 3pm with a catered lunch and drinks. Don’t miss out since last month we were treated to fresh tacos by Chef Mark!
Remember, all of your volunteer trail efforts earn you another chance to win a brand new Yeti ASR Enduro mountain bike! This prize is valued at $3,700 and brought to you thanks to our friends at Ute City Cycles!
