The Town of New Castle’s Climate and Environment Commission is hosting a celebration of Earth Day at Burning Mountain Park, 450 W Main Street, New Castle. The CEC provides information on environmental and climate issues, and develops educational and outreach activities for New Castle residents, so they are very excited to be making their 5th annual Earth Day celebration bigger than ever by teaming up with New Castle Trails as well as many other local groups to talk trails, a vast array of environmental topics that relate to the Lower Colorado River Valley and beyond, and to share about upcoming local events and other local news. Ask a CEC rep about what they use the town’s plastic bag fees for (hint: it has to do with trails!)
This event will take place at Burning Mountain Park, 450 W Main Street. And of course, after you’ve browsed the tables at the event and learned something new about the state of your local environment, take a lap of Talbott’s Burning Mountain and appreciate New Castle’s youngest trail!
