Welcome to RFMBA’s 2024 Pledge-Per-Mile, Crown Ride-A-Thon!

Saturday June 15th – Saturday June 22nd – Go ride your bike!

Sunday June 23rd, 5pm – Après Solstice Party at the RVR Old Thompson Barn in Carbondale – Come Celebrate with us!  Attendance at this party is FREE for all Ride-A-Thon registered participants!  And $20 entry for all other friends and family.  Typical Ghost will be our featured live music for the night, all attendees

We’re trying out something new this year! Our aim is to engage our friends & members to raise funds in a more ride-centric way.  Focused around “pledges-per-mile”, this event will encourage participating mountain bikers to (1) Register, (2) Set a Mileage Goal, (3) Pledge a minimum of $50, and (4) Gather small pledges & donations from your family and friends. These $0.10 to $1+ amounts will be multiplied by the number of miles that each participant rides in an 8-day period, on the Crown / Prince Creek trail network, and beyond.  Circle back by 12pm on Sunday June 23 to report your total miles ridden!

The funds raised will be directed to our ongoing efforts to build & maintain the mountain bike trail network on the Crown & Prince Creek. You will be helping to fund the final middle segment of the Crown Royale Trail, and the new Buck Down trail, among other RFMBA led efforts!

Pledges (and straight donations) are being accepted now, through Saturday June 22nd. Miles ridden from Saturday, June 15th through June 22nd will be eligible for pledges, and for prizes at our Après Solstice Party on 6/23 in Carbondale. Reporting of your total mileage during these eligible dates will be based on the honor-system. Please reach out to riley@rfmba.org with your mileage report if our Rallyup platform gives you any trouble.

Aside from the official 8 days when you’ll be counting your ride miles, there will be no formal gatherings on The Crown.  Instead, participant riders will bike from home or from wherever they normally start their rides to The Crown, whenever they please.  Plan out your solo rides, and gather a few friends for a longer ride on some of the longest days of the year!  Sunset should be close to 8:40pm on the summer solstice!  Stay tuned as we may announce informal departure times from popular trailheads to add to the week-long party vibe out on the trails.

At 5pm on June 23rd, at River Valley Ranch’s Old Thompson Barn, we will be hosting the Après Solstice Party, free for all Ride-A-Thon Participants, and $20 for all other attendees.  A complimentary Beer or beverage is provided for all attendees, with two Dinner options available for purchase. We will be recapping everyone’s efforts, celebrating our top riders & fundraisers, presenting special prizes, and will be sure to share the latest good news on RFMBA’s trail projects & programs.

Given our focus this year is raising funds for the Crown / Prince Creek area trail system, please note: All or part of this operation is conducted on Public Lands under special permit from the U.S. Bureau of Land Management.
