RFMBA works with all of the public land managers in our region to help bring you the best mountain biking experiences possible. It often takes years to complete the planning process to a place where projects are “shovel-ready”. The work behind the scenes includes open space management plans, trail and bike park plans, master plans, cultural and botanical studies, land exchanges, and much more.
RFMBA’s Seasonal Trail Crew Program was launched in 2018 to focus on maintaining our amazing trail network. Crew members spends their time improving both high-use front country trails, and our favorite backcountry classic trails.

Ute Land Acknowledgement
Many of the trails in the Roaring Fork Valley and beyond exist within the ancestral territory of the Uncompahgre Tribe of the Ute Nation or Nuche. We honor the inherent stewardship that native people have for the land, waters, and air in which all trail users continue to have the privilege to revel in. We strive to learn from the Ute tradition of living in harmony with the environment, and take action to sustain it for generations to come.
